The CPD program

Dear College Fellows and Members,

The Australian College of Phlebology has recently updated the Quality Assessment  and Continuing Professional Development (QA & CPD) program.

The ACP is committed to ensuring that fellows and members of the Australasian College of Phlebology maintain high standards and high levels of professional development through the Continuing Medical Education Program.

The aim of the program is to assist Australasian Phlebologists in a range of ongoing educational activities, which maintain clinical standards once Fellowship of the ACP has been attained; so that they maintain and improve the quality of care they give to patients and promote the highest possible standards of care to the community.

With the 2014-2016 Triennium coming to an end this year and as a lead up to the International Union of Phlebology Conference in Melbourne, we encourage all of our members and Fellows to actively participate in the 3 year Triennium QA & CPD program.

Activities can be recorded individually by logging into the ACP college website (www.phlebology.com.au), clicking on QA & CPD sub menu and following the prompts.    The QA & CPD program can be accessed here and members can use this as a guide when recording activities.  A total of 160 points over the 3 years are required for successful completion and can be obtained over 3 broad categories.

The ACP will accept any activities or training as long as it is relevant to the field of Phlebology.  Vascular Surgeons, Dermatologists and General Practitioners who participate in external activities, workshops, conferences and training are encouraged to enter their activity through the website portal and

I remind all Members and Fellows to retain ALL their certificates or proof of completion.  Audits of CME submissions will occur randomly and in such circumstances full documentation will be required to substantiate claims made.

Sincerely

Executive Board Member ACP
